📜 Historical Background
Walkeshwar Temple traces its origins to mythological times, linked to the Ramayana.
It is believed that Lord Rama built a lingam of sand (“Valuka Ishwar”) here while searching for Sita.
The present structure was rebuilt in the 18th century by the Silhara dynasty.
