📜 Historical Background
Built in 1831 by Dhakji Dadaji, a Hindu merchant, the temple was constructed after the British attempted (and failed) to build a causeway between Worli and Malabar Hill. Dhakji Dadaji vowed to build the temple if the project succeeded—and it did.
The temple houses three goddesses:
